- By Train: Get down from Haputale railway station and catch the bus to Beragala junction up to Diyaluma fall

- Take much water
- Ask the directions from the villagers
- Do not try this hike on rainy days
- Going to the top of the Giant Diyaluma is a risky thing, so be careful.
- There might be Wild Elephants on dry days
- Do not harm to the fruit trees over there
- Do not bath at the round pools at the top of Giant Diyaluma fall.
- Beware about Flash Floods

Diyaluma (220m) is the second highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and its situated at Beragala-Wellawaya road. Turn right from the Beragala junction and proceed about 23km to the waterfall.
There are 03 routes to the Uda Diyaluma waterfall as follow.
From the Koslanda- Punagala road
Via the Diyaluma Estate (The road after the Diyaluma fall-500m away from the Diyaluma fall)
Before the Diyaluma waterfall there is a jungle path
We started the hike from the Diyaluma estate road and it is the easiest road around there. It is about 2km to the top of the Diyaluma fall from the main road. Vans/ Bikes/ Three wheelers and 4WD vehicles can go up to the factory at that road. Then the path will continue via the factory and then via the village houses. After that the final 01km will start to climb. That climb is a direct climb to the mountain and you can find your own path where it won’t be a problem to tackle to direction to the top.
When you reach to the top of the mountain turn to left and proceed about 300m to the Uda Diyaluma fall. Uda Diyaluma is about 30m waterfall which having a triangle type flowing style. And then walk along the water stream to the top of Giant Diyaluma waterfall. There is a massive wind at the top of Diyaluma. So, be carefull about the wind direction and slippery rock plains.
After we spend about 3 hours around this amazing area we saw two boys where they founding some plants and fruits over the jungle. We met them and talked with them and they took us via another road. That road is totally dangerous and most of places are faced to landslides. That road is too narrow about one foot. We can’t find that road without them because that is their road which they made for their convenience. There are plenty of Cashew trees and we collect a lot. Those are totally at the jungle and free to have. That road is difficult but a shortcut to the Wellawaya main road.
After we came to the wellawaya road we had some chat with their parents about the accidents of the Diyaluma fall and etc. After that we continued our journey to Demodara nine arch bridge.
