We had a little bit bad habit from a long time, it is that when my friend have a faraway client visit he get join me to that visit. But with the official permission we make that visit for full time, hence we do the visit early morning and use the rest of the time to our Adventure tours. It is mainly waterfall hunting.

However we left from Moratuwa at 4.30am and reached to Udawalawa around 7.30am. The client lives near to the park hence we were able to see the morning beauty of the area and few elephants inside the park. After that we to Embilipitiya for some duties and left from there at 11am. Then we directly drive to Ratnapura and turned to Nivithigala-Kalawana road and had our Lunch.

After having lunch we came near to the Rajanewa Waterfall. This is a 12m height beautiful waterfall. But the whole environment was polluted by the villagers and alcohol users. Even the time is at 1pm there were three groups having fun with liquor and destroying the nature by throwing polythine bags and bottles. There was a group of students who are drinking and some are slept of the rock faces. Their tution class books and bags were at the same place. Villagers and all the visitors use this fall to bath and daily uses.

After that we continue the journey along the Kalawana road up to a junction where a name board of “Sri Kukuluwa Viharaya” and turned right to the narrow road and proceed about 5km to “Akkara 10” village. There is a small temple and you can park your vehicles over there. If you are coming by bicycles you can go further 1.5 km to the closest entrance of the fall. After that we walked up to a junction where a small retail shop situated and turned right to the downward road and proceed about 200m. After that we used foot path to the top of the fall. Ballan Damana Fall is about 60m height fall but she was totally dried at the time. However I used the right handside jungle path to the bottom of the fall and it was little bit difficult due to the slippery of the environment.

After spending few minutes over there we went again to the Kalawana road and proceed 1km to Kalawana side and turned right to the Watawala Fall road. Then we proceed about another 2km to the foot path where it goes to the fall. Watawala fall is a higher that 60m and it is falling from 3 parts. However at that time she is also at the dried section. Hence we couldn’t have a bath also. There also we saw 2 group of young people having fun with liquor. And that environment is also polluted with plastic, polythine and broken bottles.

However we managed to see 3 waterfalls within 4 hours and turned back to the homes by 8pm on the same day. Finally we noticed that those falls are situated very close to the villages and towns. Hence most of people use them as another place for having drinking activities. Nobody care about the environment.
