Last year we build a “Kuti” in Kukulamalapotha area & donate to Monk. Last year “Was Period” he lived in there. Soon after “Was Period” he left the “Kutiya” & went to another remote area. We found another monk is willing to live there for some time. Then we arrange the trip & we start our journey on 04th night. First we went to Ehiliyagoda & pick the monk from there. After that we start our journey & came to the Riverston area around 5.15 a.m. We had little rest there. First we plan to visit “Poththatawela” village. On that way we came to “Sera Ella” around 6.30 a.m. First we offer “Heel Danaya” for Monk. We also had our breakfast there. We were able to see magical views of “Sera Ella”. She gave amazing views with high & powerful water level. No one there at that time & we enjoyed very happy silent morning time there. After good time there we left from Amazing “Sera Ella”. When we came to the entrance the villagers start arranging their small shops. They surprised that we came such early time there. They ask to offer “Heel Danaya” to monk, but we mentioned that we brought food items & already offered to monk. Then again they surprised & we asked directions from them. We have to go another few km’s from there to reach “Poththatawela” village. Road end from this village & this was the last village in this route. When we came to village we asked the direction to “Kutiya”. We have go another 3 – 4 km’s through paddy fields, water canals & passing water ways. First we missed the route & then the villager came to show us the direction. On the way we met the Monk who returns from the village after having “Pindapathaya”. We start our journey again after sending back the villager after thanking him. When we came to the “Kutiya” premises we couldn’t believe our own eyes. “Kutiya” build in a very simple way & it situated in amazing place. The place ideal for such monks for meditation. We waited there till monk having his “Pindapatha Danaya”. We walk around “Kutiya” & see the beauty around there. “Kutiya” situated near the river bank & during rainy season water level come up to the “Kutiya” premises. Lots of large fish we were able to see in the river. When we had discussion with monk he mentioned that it’s time for left this place. They live few months in one place & left it. This was another opportunity for us & we plan to take this monk on our return journey. After waiting nearly one hour there & came back to village . We arranged & paid for village three wheel for take monk up to Illukkumbura on next day morning. Hard to believe these remote villagers life’s. They don’t have any proper transport & other facilities. Anyhow they live in these remote beautiful villages hiding from many eyes. Our aim was to reach “Sera Ella” before 11.30 a.m. Because we have to offer “Danaya” for monk before 11.30 a.m. But around 1.00 p.m we came back to “Sera Ella”. “Dahawal Danya” missed & we offer “Orange juice” for monk. We also had quick snack as lunch. After that we start journey to Kukulamalapotha village. Lot more remaining in the day !!!
