  • Dhanigala / Alien Mountain at Aralaganwila

Dhanigala mountain is actually an exploration by Travel with Chathura program as they captured an amazing circular photo of this unique shaped mountain. Hence I wanted to climb this mountain before get it rush by unethical travelers. However, I and few of my friends were able to conquer Dhanigala mountain and explore some more beauty than we saw on Chathura’s video.

It has a unique shape and it looks like an alien ship was landed over there and the trees/ grass over that area was burned. And we can clearly identify it from the above photos as it shows the circle where there are no trees.

This area also affected by LTTE works in the war era and that is why most of the ruins damaged. Also, treasure hunters were there a long time ago and there is a big historical value over this site and the temple too. We had a chat with the head monk as we have informed him before the visit. He was very friendly and taught us some important info too.
